The Richmond (VA) Chapter of the Links Incorporated is proud to honor our Link Sister, Dr. Jill Bussey Harris.
On November 1, Dr. Jill Bussey Harris was recognized by Carreras Jewelers as the Carreras Cares Honoree for the commitment to the Richmond (VA) Chapter, The Links, Incorporated and the Richmond Community.
Jill is a cosmetic dentist who has been in private practice for over 30 years. She was inducted into the Louisville Chapter of The Links, Incorporated in 1986 and transferred to the Richmond Chapter in 1989. In addition to providing superior dental care to the patients in her practice, Jill has been a loyal, active and committed member of our Chapter.
She has served our chapter in many ways.
Including:
- 1998 Fundraising Chair “Links Day at the Races” at Colonial Downs
- 2000 Fundraising Chair held at Theater IV benefitting VUU
- 2011 and 2013 Fundraising Chair “Art in the Atrium” at VMFA
- 2008 55th Anniversary Celebration – Chair Emerald Ball
From 2009 to 2016, Jill has provided dental screenings for school-age children through the partnership of The Links Incorporated and Colgate Palmolive’s Bright Smile, Bright Futures Mobile Dental Van.
Jill served one term as our Chapter vice president from 2011 – 2013 and two terms as our Chapter President from 2013-2015 and 2015 – 2017.
Under her leadership as chapter president, FMA2 was created. Focused Motivated Achievers at Franklin Military Academy, the Chapter’s Umbrella Program. Now in its 4thyear, our goal is to provide experiences to enhance the growth and development of a select group of female students. Members of the Chapter’s program facets provide weekly lessons, activities, speakers and occasional field trips that include exposure to The Arts, National and International Trends and Services and Health and Human Services. The partnership will continue through the completion of their high school education.
Dr. Bussey’s dedication to serving our community is shown in the countless number of hours she has contributed in support of our Chapter’s Service projects. She willingly contributes her time and talents and never refuses our requests to serve. She truly lives and believes “To whom much is given, much is expected; and our Chapter is grateful for her generosity and her willingness to serve our community.
